Maarit Thiem
Maarit Thiem is the Project Coordinator for the TRAFIG project (https://trafig.eu/) at the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC). Before joining BICC, Maarit Thiem managed the Global Nexus Secretariat at GIZ (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), which is the global hub for an EU/BMZ co-funded programme on the Water-Energy-Food Security (WEF) Nexus. Before her assignment at the Nexus Regional Dialogues Programme, she worked in Namibia for the GIZ Land Reform Programme as an integrated expert for the Legal Assistance Centre LAC and for the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change at the United Nations University.
Simone Christ
Simone Christ Senior Researcher at the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC). Expert on forced migration and refugee studies, labor migration, cultural anthropology, qualitative and ethnographic research methods, research ethics. She has conducted intensive empirical field research in the Philippines, United Arab Emirates, and Germany and is part of the project TRAFIG - Transnational Figurations of Displacement– Connectivity and Mobility as Solutions to Protracted Refugee Situations”, 2019 – 2022, funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme
