Newsletter #2 – Updates on the fieldwork

We are happy to share Whole-COMM’s second issue!

This newsletter gives you an overview of Whole-COMM activities that took place over the past few months. During this period Whole-COMM researchers have focused on the first part of the fieldwork exploring the responses of local governance systems to the challenges related to the integration of post-2014 migrants. Meanwhile, we are mapping and reconstructing integration policies and practices in Small and Medium-sized Towns and Rural Areas (SMsTRAs), which we will publish in the Country Reports in the months ahead. To learn more about the localities selected as case studies by Whole-COMM please visit the new Countries section on our website.

The second part of the fieldwork will start in the Spring, and it will investigate how integration policies influence reciprocal attitudes of natives and long-term residents and shape social relations and post-2014 migrants’ experiences of integration through an intense qualitative fieldwork. Watch here the video of our partner EUI – Migration Policy Center to get more details about this step of Whole-COMM research.

In this issue you will also find a review of recent publication and events of Whole-COMM consortium.
